when i heard the news this morning, my heart just blew a fuse

we're damned now if we do or don't no matter what we choose

i'd be outta here tomorrow if i could buy some walkin' shoes
'cause today i have the blues  

who knows what's more destructive, a car bomb or a pen

and who's knows how long it'll be 'fore it's safe to care again

guess i'll try again tomorrow, i can't afford no walkin' shoes

we're ruled by guns and money from underground to outer space

some people think it's funny when they lie right to your face
