in the church and the state we are ruled by the few

there's too many rules,  there's too many rules

for putting it straight we are long overdue

there's too many rules,  there's too many rules

 

lawyers and bureaucrats battle to extend their control

never surrender or else you will forfeit your soul 

first thing to do, right away, is stop digging this hole

 

from corporate boardrooms they dangle the "new" 

there's too many fools,  there's too many fools

they act out a "fight" but it's one point of view 

there's too many fools,  there's too many fools

 

willing to trade all our freedom to the face on TV 

who urge them to buy a big house and a new SUV 

how worse will it get before people will wake up and see?
